At what time is the daily pick up, when staying in mazatlan?
On day trips the pick up time is between 4:00-4:30 am (exact time will be provided a day in advance) at your hotel lobby. If you are fishing just for the day, you will be back at 9:30 pm.

What kind of boats do you have?
16 ft fiber glass bass boats with 60 h.p. outboard motors.

Do you have trolling motors?
Yes, we do have electric trolling motors and an extra battery if needed.

What kind of food do you have?
We will serve you a great variety of meals, including: steaks, salt water fish (snapper, snook, corvina, etc), chicken, salads, etc. If you require a special daily diet, our chef will be glad to cook it for you.


What time of the year is the best?

What should i bring with me?
Hat, polarized sun glasses, sun screen, camera with new batteries and extra film, wind breaker or sweat shirt for cool mornings, removable long pants that shorts can fit underneath, shorts, an assortment of smaller dollar billl for tipping, etc., watch, alarm clock, various snacks to enjoy while fishing, bug repellent and rods, reels and tackle box (fishing equipment is provided only on day trips)


Who can go?
All skill levels are welcome! From novices to experts, from kids to adults, our guides will make everyone feel right at home.


Do the guides speak english?
Our guides do not speak fluent english but do know some words and phrases. They have lived in this area all their lives and are skilled fishermen who give their best effort to make your day enjoyable.

Are the boats equipped with electronics?
No, but you are always welcome to bring your own.

Do we supply all of the necessary fishing equipment?
No, fishing equipment is supplied only on day trips. On overnight trips, you would need to bring you own.
What is the amount of a typical tip for the guide?
An average tip for the services of your guide is $40 to $60 us dollars. There is no set fee and you can tip accordingly.


At what time do the boats leave in the morning and for how long?
Our boats launch at first daylight 6:00 am and fish until 11:00 am, come back to the lodge for lunch, rest and refresh, and relax. Back to the lake at 1:00 pm until sun dusk, when we go back to Mazatlan. We are the first boats on the water every morning and the last ones to come back.
Can we stay extra time if the fish are really biting?
This is something you have to ask to the cheif of guides, it all depends on the other people also fishing during that particular day.

How many people can go? What if some of them do not fish?
We take up to 2 adult persons per boat, only exception is a third person with the understanding that it's not recommendable.


Are lunches and beverages included in the charter price?
Yes, breakfast or box lunch, lunch and dinner, ice, water, soft drinks, beers and margaritas (especial drinks should be bought before getting to the lake).

Do the boats carry life preservers?
Yes, our boats are equipped with life preservers.

What can we expect to do on an average charter?

Are deposits refundable in case of foul weather?
Yes, deposits are completely refundable if the boats are unable To launch due to rain, high winds or any other natural cause.

How far in advance do you need us to make reservations?
During the peak fall season of october through may it is wise to book your boat charter dates at least several months in advance, but the rest of the year you will need to book only a month before.


What is not included in the charter price?
The charter price does not include special drinks or tips to drivers and fishing guides.

Your choice of rod brands. Our recommendations on length: 6 ½' Medium Action, 6 ½' Medium Heavy, or 6 ½' Heavy. 7' rods are good if you can handle that long a rod.

 

SPINNING RODS & REELS:
Spinning rod & reel combinations are not recommended because 14# line is the heaviest you can cast. If you must bring a spinning set-up, we recommend Spider Wire -30# test.
